We spend some of our leisure time working around the ranch. Since we've been involved in construction all of our lives, we enjoy the time spent building and improving the ranch and our house. But when we aren't working there, we're very active in ballroom dancing. Together, we take lessons once a week and enjoy going out some weekend evenings to practice what we've learned. Since ballroom dancing is so popular right now, we have many opportunities to dress up and attend balls and dances in our area.

Together, we also enjoy mountain bike riding, hiking and playing with our three cats. When we aren't spending time together, Karri enjoys writing short stories and has even had a few published. Since she has been dancing from the age of two, she still enjoys taking various dance classes and teaching ballet and tap to children. Glen is a big rugby fan, and although he doesn't play anymore, he still enjoys watching the tournaments every year. He is also interested in computer programming and spends some evenings working on the computer.

Every year, our family takes a long vacation to Panama City Beach. We rent a house on the beach so that the entire family has room to spread out. We spend a lot of time relaxing on the beach or by the pool, cooking out and trying all of the Key Lime Pies we buy at the different bakeries. Most evenings, we go to one of our favorite seafood restaurants before heading for the miniature golf courses.

For the past five years, we've spent a couple of days at the giant maze, trying to win the family championship by being the fastest team to finish. Over the years, we've had different winners, but everyone has had their name on the maze's daily winner board at least once!

We've parasailed, gone deep sea fishing, taken an airboat ride and rented all types of boats. One of our favorite activities is seashell hunting and every year we come home with enough to decorate our homes and provide for plenty of craft projects throughout the year.

Each year, we hunt for a new beach house to rent, new restaurants to try and new miniature golf courses, but we all have our favorites that we visit every year. Besides the week we actually spend on the beach and the week we spend traveling to and from the beach, we enjoy the memories all year long, at least until it's time to plan the next trip.

Fancy Hats at Our Kentucky Derby Party

With Karri's family so close, we have many family traditions that include them, from our yearly trip to a beach house in Florida to holiday celebrations. We enjoy many family parties such as the Kentucky Derby party when we all wear our fanciest hats to watch the race and our Super Bowl party where everyone wears their team's colors.

One tradition that has been on-going since we were married is the Christmas Eve party we host just before the midnight service at church. A newer tradition is the Sunrise Celebration we have on Easter morning on the shore of the family's lake.

We're looking forward to including the newest member of our family in everything from Karri's sister's Halloween costume party to the Spring Gathering held annually at the ranch. Many of our parties include friends and their families, so it's not unusual to have dozens of children playing tag in the fields or running through the woods on a treasure hunt. Your child will have a special place in those activities and will be a cherished addition to our family traditions.
