There is no gift like being a parent. It is the most vital role we will ever have. We feel that we are good people and value high ethics and morals. We are dedicated and eager to share our love with your child. We are looking forward to holidays, vacations, movies, swimming in our pool, walks with the dogs, reading to your child and snuggling up on late Saturday mornings in bed. We are dedicated to giving your child all the warmth and love we were blessed with from our parents.

Other Children

Matt has a 7 year old daughter by a previous marriage named Katelynn. She calls Wanda "Nana" because that is what Wanda's nieces and nephews call her and Katelynn wanted to do the same. Katelynn is such a kind, loving, and good natured little girl that she never meets a stranger. We spend every other weekend with her and are fortunate to have her at least 2 days during the week. We feel that the time we have with her is so precious that we try to make every second count. We mostly like being outside either swimming, flying kits, riding four wheelers or taking rides in the Jeep with the top down (weather permitting). She has numerous friends in our neighborhood so when she is there our house is full of kids and activity, which we both love. The more the merrier for us. The one thing she really loves for us to do when we are riding in the Jeep is to sing along with the radio or CD. We each take a turn and pass around a pretend microphone. While doing this you have to act with facial expressions and sing really loud. Neither one of us can carry a tune so she just laughs and laughs. We love all the things you do to make your kids happy.

What it Means to Be Parents and Our Strengths

We both believe that being a good parent essentially means being a good role model, providing unconditional love, support and encouragement.

Leading by example is a must to being a good parent. We believe that it is vital to nurture a child in the development of good values/morals, in being honest, expressing love and using good judgment with distinguishing between right and wrong.

Along with these beliefs we also want your child to be allowed to develop their own sense of self, learn to laugh, be compassionate and see the good in all things and people.

We believe in, above all, positive feedback and want to offer your child all the emotional support they need to give them a happy childhood and help develop him/her into a caring and warm adult.

We promise as adoptive parents to always provide love and support to your child, to nurture and guide them through the years, and to be there in good times and bad times, no matter what.

Our Pets

Wanda, Katelynn and Four of the Dogs in Front of Our House at Christmas

We both are animal lovers. We have 5, yes 5, dogs between us. Yours, mine and ours. Their names are Perdie, Tobie, Eddie, Hailey and Harley. They each have their own personality that makes each one special and unique. They ALL love children and enjoy having them around.

During the day they stay outside in the backyard but at night they sleep inside with us. They each have their own bed in our bedroom. When Katelynn is at our house, Perdie sleeps in her room with her. Perdie wants to be where ever Katelynn is, as Katelynn says Perdie is her best friend.

We discipline and spoil our dogs just like our children. They mean so much to us. We love them and they love us unconditionally. We can't imagine coming home and not having all five of them meeting us at the back door. We have talks every night with our dogs about how we are going to love, take care of and protect the new baby. We think they are as excited about a little one as we are.
