Our Son

We are blessed to have a four-year-old in our home. He is excited about the prospect of having a sibling and knows that we are attempting to adopt. He knows that being a big brother will be a tremendous opportunity, and a lot of work. He is all boy, but is still a sensitive, caring young man. Recently, on a hike behind his grandmother's house to the top of a "mountain" he was understandably excited about climbing over rocks, throwing sticks and fighting imaginary bad guys on the way to the top. At the summit, he looked out over the valley extending north and tugged at a sleeve, saying "gosh, this really is beautiful, isn't it." He is already a good mix of fun and level-headedness and is, like us, looking forward to welcoming your child into our home.

Our Favorite Vacation Spot!

We are beach people. Our favorite family vacation is a spot along the Western Florida or Eastern Alabama coast. We typically rent a condo unit for a week and spend time on the beach, fishing or relaxing. For the last few years, these vacations have taken in a growing percentage of the family, with grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins joining in on the trip. We stake out our spot on the beach and use it as ground zero for the day's activities, from swimming, building sandcastles (or just seeing who can dig the deeper hole) and, after dark, searching for the crabs that come out where the surf meets the sand. After terrorizing the crabs, we retire indoors to cook shrimp bought from the local boats or, if we are lucky, fish caught in that day's outing.

What We Do for Fun

Biking-A Family Favorite

We look forward to sharing crisp fall afternoons rooting the Razorbacks on to victory (or not, depending upon the year), fishing trips with our older child, biking around our town, and playing golf. We also look forward to movie nights, eating popcorn and watching silly movies or hiding eyes behind blankets when scary parts come on. We look forward to spending time with family on a lake, learning to swim, testing each other to see who can swim across a cove first. We look forward to tractor rides and helping "Paw Paw" feed cattle, check his other animals or just ride an ATV. We look forward to playing cards or Mousetrap and stoking fires while it snows outside. We look forward, most of all, to welcoming your child into our family, and sharing these times with them.
