We can't begin to know or understand the emotions that you are feeling as you decide if adoption is right for you and your baby. However, we do know that this decision is difficult and that with much thought and prayer, your decision will be the correct one. We thank you for having the courage and love to consider adoption and for taking the time to learn a little about us and how we would bring love to your child.

How We Met

…As told by Jay: We met our freshman year in college and have been together ever since. We were introduced to each other by two of my high school friends who lived in the same dorm as Jennifer and had been trying to set us up for a little over a month. Both of us were hesitant to meet the other person because we thought "How great could they be if they needed to be set-up on date, right?" Finally, I gave into my friends' persistence and walked over to meet Jennifer one afternoon. Unfortunately, Jennifer was napping (which she never did) and was woken up to meet me, bed-head and all. She walked into the dorm room and it was love at first site. I fell in love with her golden curls, great smile, and friendly personality.

However, for Jennifer it would take a little more convincing that I was the one for her. Apparently my jean shorts and my parted-down-the-middle hair wasn't an instant hit: Strike One. We chatted and exchanged numbers and I called her later that night. Unfortunately for me, I called her "Jenny" instead of Jennifer, which she doesn't like: Strike Two. Surprisingly, she agreed to a date and I was eventually able to win her over with a movie and dinner at a Wendy's Restaurant. She claims I won her over by being a gentleman, but I think it was the burger and fries. To this day, I treat her with love and respect, so that I never hear "Strike Three, You're Out".

What We Do for Fun

We believe that life is short, so we try to get as much out of life as possible. We love spending time together and consider each other our best friend. In the spring and summer months, we try to get out of the house as much as possible by picnicking downtown, going to the lake front, relaxing at the neighborhood pool, and attending as many Cubs games as possible. When fall and winter hit, you'll find us at the local farm picking pumpkins and apples, catching the latest movie, rooting for the Chicago Bears or cheering for Jen's brother's basketball team.

We also enjoy spending time with our friends, but have our own individual interests. Jay enjoys a good morning workout and keeping up on the latest electronic gadgets. He's built our home computer, plays golf, and is planning our next home improvement project. Jennifer enjoys mental challenges with cross-word puzzles and reading books or magazines. She also loves a good soap opera, chat on the phone, or walk around the neighborhood on a bright, sunny day.

We are looking forward to upcoming vacations at the Wisconsin Dells and Las Vegas. We are also planning family vacations to Colorado and Washington D.C.

What We Look Forward to Sharing with a Child

Easter with the Future Aunt and Uncle

We are both very excited to share our life experiences with a child. We will encourage any interest our child has and expose them to all that life has to offer. Jay is looking forward to coaching a child's little league sports team, teaching a child all about computers and helping with science fair projects. He loves Halloween and can't wait to decorate the house and take a child around the neighborhood to trick-or-treat.

Jennifer bakes the best chocolate peanut-butter chip cookies around and can't wait to teach our child the secret recipe. She is looking forward to playing games, bedtime stories, family dinners and going to gymnastic meets or dance recitals. Perhaps most of all she is looking forward to belting out the latest radio songs with a child in the car.

We are both looking forward to helping with homework and getting them through those first awkward school dances and share in the good and bad first-date stories. Most of all, we are looking forward to encouraging a child's interests and passions and helping them become the person they want to be.
