| Our Extended Families |
Mike’s family lives about 2 ˝ hours away. Mike's mom has a small homestead with goats, rabbits and chickens. Eli and Ethan love to help grandma with the milking and feeding. They have lots of fun gathering eggs and playing with the new ducks and guineas. Mike also has 2 sisters who have children in Branson. We like to go down and spend the night in Branson and visit everyone. Mike's sister has a son that is Eli's age and they love to play. Mike's grandparents live in Colorado and we have been out there a few times to visit and tour the local attractions. It's always fun to fly or drive out and stay with them and then do some vacationing also. They love to send the boys cards and gifts from all the neat places they visit when they are bird watching. Last time they took us up into the mountains to sightsee.
Lana’s family all lives within 40 minutes of each other. She has a brother and a sister who are each married and have children. We have a great time going to games and cheering on the kids. They all love to play sports of some kind. Her parents live close by also and have lots of time to spend with Eli and Ethan. They live on 20 acres and have all kinds of animals to play with. There is always some kind of baby animal there! Also, Grandpa has a tractor and loves to take everyone on wagon rides down to the timber for picnics. Wading in the creek or having a weenie roast are also family favorites. We have a lot of fun playing games together and especially football!! They always plant a big garden and the boys can't wait to see what they find growing in it!! Grandpa and Grandma just bought four wheelers last year so every one could take rides and have fun!! They were also used to haul dirt when we made them a big water garden and waterfall. Everyone loves to sit around and feed the fish. Grandpa is retired and is always excited to have the kids spend the day to "help"!
We also take awesome family trips together. This last year we went to Yellowstone and South Dakota and had a great time. We hiked and explored for almost 2 weeks. This included lots of camping!! It was grandma's first time.
Our other trips have included Florida, Colorado and Las Vegas. We love to see amazing sights together. We all attend church and enjoy talking about God . We were raised up as Christians and enjoy our faith together. Everyone looks forward to adding another child to our family!!

We live in the country about 15 minutes from town in southern Missouri. We were the first ones to build along the road we live on but now have several neighbors. Our house sits on the top of a gradual hill and is surrounded by many types of trees. We originally had 3 acres but God has since blessed us with being able to purchase the land next to us. By doing so we gained an additional 3 acres and a large old-time barn. We enjoy spending time outside so we have planted additional trees, shrubs, and flowers. We plant a garden each year and on our property we are able to pick dewberries and blackberries every spring and summer.
The back of our property is a large field and we mow paths thru the grass so that we can go on walks around the property to see all of nature's beauty. The boys also have small four wheelers that they like to drive on the paths. Living in the country allows us to have a few animals and we have one dog and a few cats. Over in the barn we have some pygmy goats and a few chickens and two ducks and are hoping to add two calves in the spring. Lana likes to lay on her hammock and watch the boys play over by the barn. We have seen squirrels, opossum, snakes, rabbits and frogs. We have a unique tree house that the boys play on and around and we love to spend time by the water garden that we designed and built and listen to the waterfall and watch the fish. We can go out of our back deck and walk out and go on a picnic anywhere on the property! The boys love to go biking and we often visit our neighbors. Eli loves to take cookies to an elderly man down the road. We also have a summer pool and love to have all our friends over to barbeque and swim in the summer. The fireworks look great out here every year!
