Every human being, from time to time in his/her life, is required to make difficult decisions. We understand that you are in the process of making one of the most difficult decisions that you will ever have to make in your life. We cannot fully understand what you are going through, but we sincerely believe that we can help you make this decision in a way that will be both supportive of your needs and comforting to you personally. In spite of all the information we have already provided to you, we also understand that we are basically strangers to you. We both think, however, that the following words, straight from our hearts, will enable you to see us as the good, decent, loving couple that we are, and thus help you feel more confident about trusting us with the welfare of your child.

Our names are Michael and Amber. We are both 32 years of age. We have been trying to have children for several years now, without success. Yes, we spent some time wondering why this happened to us, but no more or no less time than other couples in similar situations. At some point, not so very long ago, we realized that the beautiful dream of having a biological child was simply not going to be, no matter what we did and no matter how hard we tried, and that the reason why was no longer relevant to either one of us. We decided to adopt, to make the beautiful dream come true in another way, to take into our home the child of a mother who, for whatever reason, was not able to raise her baby by herself, and who had decided, unselfishly and courageously, to give her own child up for such an adoption. In short, we began to look for someone like you. Although we have not met you, we both know without a doubt that you have made a decision to place the welfare of your child above that of your own. Regardless of whether you decide to trust us or some other couple with your child, we commend you and we admire you for making such a selfless decision.

There are certain solemn promises that we are prepared to make to you regarding your child and his /her future, should you decide to choose us as the adoptive parents. First and foremost, he/she will be loved unconditionally and forever. We understand the uncertainties and the heartache you are dealing with regarding the adoption procedure, and our own hearts go out to you because of that, but please have no doubts, no doubts whatsoever, about that aspect of your child's life with us. Your child will be loved and treasured not only by us but by our extended families, good, loving, trustworthy people with lots of experience with children.

Thank you for taking the time to listen. Trusting us with the safety, security, and the future of your child would be to us a blessing almost beyond belief, and we would be eternally grateful to you for such a gift. We hope and pray that you do choose us but, whatever decision you make, we hope it brings you peace and contentment regarding the future of your child. Were you to select us, we would raise your child in the full knowledge that you made a very difficult decision with his/her best interests as your only concern. We would also be more than willing to keep you up to date on your child's progress via letters and pictures, so that you would always be confident that you made the proper choice.
